Shanghai
Shanghai,
a world-famous metropolis and one of the three municipalities
under the direct jurisdiction of the Central Government,
is situated on the central coastline of China's mainland.
It serves as a gateway to the fertile Yangtse River
valley. The city has a total area of 6340 square kilometers
with a population of 14.15 million.
Shanghai has a sub-tropical and maritime climate, temperate
but humid, with four distinct seasons. The hottest month
is July with an average temperature of 28 degree and

hub of transportation, it serves as a major port for
foreign trade. The Shanghai harbour, a leading port
in China of international fame, has a harbour area of
60km in length, navigable for 10000 ton ships all year
round. It has trade relations with more than 160 countries
and regions in the world.
